  My wife and I made some purchased and quickly check out. We paid for our items and they were legally ours at this time. At the door, as associate said, "I need to see your receipt!" She did not ask, she demanded. I have worked in retail long enough to know that when an associate says that, they are suspicious of shoplifting. Since I am not a thief, I refuse to be treated as such. I told the associate that she could not see my receipt and proceeded out the door. Besides, I do not consent to search from private individuals. Once at our vehicle, We were approached by a Kenner Police Officer, one other employee who refused to give her name and Claudia. The officer demanded my receipt. The entire time, he had his hand on his gun which was very intimidating. Once I showed him my receipt, he asked why I didn't show him my receipt. I told him. He then talked down to me saying that I should know Wal-mart's policy about showing receipts. I thought that this was unusual since I did not sign any contract with Wal-mart. How could I know or why should I care what their policy is. I wonder how much business Wal-mart looses because of this bullying? Why didn't the associate give me her name? Was she embarrassed to work at Wal-mart? Did she know she was incorrect in the bullying? Why must I be treated as a criminal when I shop at Wal-mart?
